Man arrested for high-speed chase, driving with a Legoland license and having “large amount of cannabis”

No, a Legoland driving license does not grant you the right to legally operate a motor vehicle.  But kudos to one British man for giving it a try while transporting a boatload of marijuana.

Kent Online just now reports a 21-year-old man led police on a multi-town high-speed chase in the early morning hours of February 28.  A helicopter was even summoned to track the suspect on the 35-mile pursuit, which ended in the Isle of Sheppey after the man’s Audi A1 ran out of fuel.

Police say the driver only had a toy Legoland license, which was issued to him in 2003.  Basically, the theme park awards kids a license after completing a fake driving test in a brick-built car.

Police also found a hefty chunk of marijuana in the car, and so arrested him on several driving and drug-related charges.

Kent police had a sense of humor about the bust, tweeting a photo of the license and captioning it, “No, the #LegoLand license was not the reason for the drivers dangerous driving, the large amount of cannabis was.”

The man was released on bail.
