Reps. McEntire, Klippert join state House lawmakers to honor the Washington National Guard

The state House of Representatives honored the men and women of the National Guard Wednesday. John Sattgast reports from the state Capitol.

Among the sponsors of House Resolution 4639 honoring the Washington National Guard was 19th District State Representative Joel McEntire, a United States Marine Corps reservist.

“I tip my hat to these men and women as that they are able to juggle so many things in their lives. They also stand ready to protect us against anything nature has to throw at us – fires and floods, snow, landslides, crimes, civil unrest – anything that comes up, these men and women are there.”

Kennewick Representative Brad Klippert, who retires Monday from the Washington State Guard after more than 30 years of military service, thanked guard members for their sacrifices.

“When everyone else runs away from the danger, you run towards it. You fight on a daily basis to keep us safe, home and abroad. Thank you, Washington’s National Guard, for always being ready – for always being there.

The resolution was approved unanimously. John Sattgast, the state Capitol.
