Toronto police are searching for a man who allegedly stole an $8,000 guitar from a music store by hiding it in his pants, according to a news release issued by York Regional Police.
Exactly how did he manage to fit a guitar in his pants? Well, surveillance video shows the thief making off with the guitar — a Gibson Custom Shop 60th Anniversary 1959 Les Paul Standard — by stuffing the neck down the leg of his pants and hiding the body under his sweater.
Police say the man then fled the area in a vehicle being driven by a second male suspect.
The suspects are described by police as being white men in their 20s. The man who appeared to hide the guitar in his clothing was wearing “extremely large, baggy pants” at the time of the incident, police said.
An image of the stolen guitar was also provided by police.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing and police are asking anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
