LACEY, Wash. (AP) — Authorities say Lacey police shot and killed a man who fired at officers, presumably hitting one in their bulletproof vest. News outlets report police responded to a home Thursday night after a woman called saying she had been attacked and had left the residence with her kids. Authorities say when two officers tried to arrest the man who was inside, he fought back, then pulled out a handgun and started shooting. Police said police returned fire, killing the man on the home’s porch. The shooting is being investigated by the capital metro independent investigation team.
