Dog rescued from Seattle house caught in landslide last week

SEATTLE (AP) — A dog named Sammy has been rescued from a house that collapsed in a landslide in Seattle’s Magnolia neighborhood last week. The Seattle Fire Department said Thursday that firefighters responded to reports of a dog possibly trapped inside the home’s wreckage. Fire department video shows someone carrying an alert black Labrador out a side door. KING-TV reports homeowner Didi Fritts confirmed it was Sammy and firefighters said the dog was in stable condition. On Jan. 7, a landslide caused the house to partially collapse. Didi Fritts crawled out while her husband James was trapped and rescued by authorities. Another dog was killed in the slide.
