Fatal Crash on Hwy 127-Crook County

On Monday, January 3, 2022 at approximately 6:03 AM, Oregon State Troopers and emergency personnel responded to two-vehicle crash on Hwy 126 near milepost 12. 

Preliminary investigation revealed an eastbound Chevrolet pickup, operated by John Sacco (24) of Redmond, crossed into the westbound lane and collided head-on with a Freightliner pulling a standard 53′ box trailer, operated by Harold Blan Jr. (59) of Prineville. 

Sacco sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. Blan Jr. was treated on-scene for his injuries.  

Hwy 126 was closed for approximately 6 hours and a detour was in place by ODOT. 

OSP was assisted by Crook County Sheriff’s Office and ODOT.
