Imagine using dynamite to solve your Tesla problems. If that sounds farfetched, then you haven’t heard of Tuomas Katainen of Finland.
People reports that he decided to basically nuke his modified 2013 Tesla Model S after he needed to change the car’s battery for a whopping $22,000. The vehicle also had a host of other issues, such as error codes and water leaks.
That said, instead of shelling out the money that could buy him a brand new car like a Toyota Corolla or Mazda3, he decided to say “sayonara” to his pricey smart car. Katainen even documented his fiery goodbye to his Tesla in a YouTube video, where he transported the car to a remote site to hit the big red button and make it go boom.
He used 66 pounds of dynamite to detonate his car in an abandoned quarry — and several bomb technicians and experts tagged along to make sure everything went smoothly… well, as smoothly as a controlled explosion can possibly go.
The group even dropped a dummy that looked like Tesla CEO Elon Musk from a helicopter onto the vehicle before the big explosion.
The video has racked up millions of views — but representatives from Tesla have remained mum on the now-viral video.
