Woodburn Shooting Suspect Arrested

Woodburn Police Department Case# 21-17

Saturday January 1, 2022 – Woodburn, OR – On Saturday, January 1, 2022, at approximately 10:30 a.m., the Woodburn Police Department (WPD) received a shots fired call in the 200 block of Oswald St. Several subjects reportedly fled the scene in a vehicle, which was later identified, pursued, and stopped by a Marion County Sherriff’s Office (MCSO) Deputy on Portland Rd north of Salem. 

22-year-old Israel Isay Ramos-Cruz, the only suspect in the vehicle when it was located and stopped, was arrested for Robbery I, Burglary I, Assault I, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Reckless Endangering. Additional charges are expected.

Neither of the two victims were transported to the hospital. No details on the other subjects available at this time. 

In addition to the MCSO, the Oregon State Police, Salem Police Department, and Mt. Angel Police Department assisted WPD in the apprehension of the suspect.
