TDHS: Unsubstantiated Report of a Weapon at School

The following letter went out to parents of The Dalles High School students on Wednesday.

Dear TDHS Families,

Today, a report was made to school administration that a student was in possession of a weapon at school.  After an investigation by school administration and local police, a plastic toy gun was recovered from a student and it was determined that there was no active threat to our students or school.  The toy gun that was recovered was not capable of propelling any sort of projectile and not considered a weapon of any kind; however, these types of “look-a-like’ weapons are prohibited and not allowed at school or school events.  We take these types of allegations very seriously and a full investigation will be conducted by the police department and school administration.  Feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Kurt Evans, Principal
