ATLANTA (AP) — The Atlanta Braves are within one victory of their first World Series crown since 1995 five.
The Braves took a three-games-to-one lead by erasing a 2-0 deficit in a 3-2 win over the Astros. Houston led 2-1 in the seventh until Dansby Swanson and pinch-hitter Jorge Soler (soh-LEHR’) belted solo homers off Cristian Javier (HAH’-vee-ehr). The blasts came an inning after Austin Riley hit an RBI single to put the Braves on the board. Riley’s hit came shortly after Eddie Rosario doubled to become the first Atlanta player to get past first base.
Jose Altuve’s (al-TOO’-vayz) solo homer put the Astros ahead by two in the fourth inning.
Former No. 1 draft pick Kyle Wright turned in 4 2/3 innings of relief after surprise starter Dylan Lee retired only one hitter.
The Braves can clinch the title at home on Sunday.
