BELLEVUE, Wash. (AP) — The swimming area at Bellevue’s Newcastle Beach Park is closed until further notice after high levels of bacteria were found in the water. Officials say although the beach has been closed, the park remains open. The closure order was issued by the Public Health – Seattle & King County Department after the high bacteria levels were recorded. It was the second time this summer that the park’s swimming area was restricted because of potentially hazardous bacteria levels in the water. Officials said the swimming area will reopen to the public after bacteria levels drop below low-risk levels.
