Man collared for copping a cop car cuts and runs — in another cop car

Making off with a police car must be pretty easy in Canada, because a Québec man managed to do it twice in one hour, according to the Montreal Gazette.

The major crimes division of the Sûreté du Québec has launched an investigation after a man who fled in a police department vehicle “resisted arrest, assaulted a police officer and succeeded, for a short time, in commandeering an SQ patrol vehicle.”

The man, in his 30s, was arrested, then brought to a hospital, according to the newspaper.  The SQ says two police officers were injured in the operation, but the injuries are not considered life-threatening.
