Being chased by an animal is no doubt a startling event, but what about when that animal just wants to be friends? It’s likely still startling, which is why one cyclist captured the whole thing on video.
CBC News reports that Ontario biker Keith Ailey experienced just that when he encountered a black ram.
“I see something black across the road, you know, maybe 300 metres in front of me. And it was pretty big for a dog and really hairy … It was too small for a bear,” he explained. “As soon as I went past him, he did a full-on sprint. He was kind of charging and making some some grunts, or pretty deep baas at the very least.”
Eventually, Ailey was able to make a dash for it when a trucker drove by and distracted the ram, whose name is Ozzy.
Ozzy’s owner shared with the outlet that the ram, “doesn’t know he’s a ram” and “only connects with humans” which is why he likely chased after Ailey.
