24 Hours of Le Mans postponed from June to August

LE MANS, France (AP) — The 24 Hours of Le Mans race has been postponed from June to August because organizers are hopeful fans can attend by then. The iconic race was scheduled for June 12-13 but has been moved to Aug. 21-22. Pierre Fillon, the president of race organizer the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, says holding the race without spectators fora second straight year would be “unthinkable.” A total of 252,500 spectators attended in 2019. There were none last year when the race started three months late because of the coronavirus pandemic.
