Design, LLC (i.e Google) looks to build two new data centers in The Dalles

Google is back and looking for a new deal. Two new deals, in fact. Under the now-thin-disguise of Design LLC, the Alphabet company has proposed construction of two more server farm plants in The Dalles. This time, though, instead of an Enterprise Zone tax break, they’re looking for a SIP or Strategic Investment Program tax break. This is a more complicated arrangement, but it means a lot more money for the taxing districts without having to wait 15 years. The Dalles City Council will meet jointly with the Wasco County Commission next Wednesday afternoon to hold a public hearing on the proposal, and the County Commissioners will join the City Council at their meeting on Monday the 22nd.

Below is the explanation from the advance packet for the City Council meeting on February 22nd. An identical section will appear in the Wasco County Commissioners packet for their February 17 meeting.
