Northeastern US digging out from not-quite-record snowstorm

BOSTON (AP) — People of the northeastern United States are shoveling out after a two-day snowstorm that shut down public transport, canceled flights and closed coronavirus vaccination sites. Some bands of snow are still moving through parts of Maine and Pennsylvania on Tuesday morning, but the worst was over. The lumbering storm dropped more than 17 inches of snow in Manhattan’s Central Park, and as much as 30 inches was reported in northern New Jersey. Several areas of Massachusetts were hit with 18-plus inches of snow, including the central Massachusetts communities of Fitchburg, Lunenburg and Ashburnham.
