The development Wednesday comes as Lee faces immense pressure to steer Samsung’s transition after his father and Samsung Electronics Chairman Lee Kun-Hee died in October. As prosecutors urged the Seoul High Court to sentence Lee to prison, he apologized and vowed not to be implicated in similar allegations in an apparent plea for leniency.
