With some 42% of Americans planning to hit the road this summer, according to a Forbes Advisor survey, now might be the time to start thinking of the snacks.
That’s because a new poll of more than 2,000 Americans revealed two-thirds of them say snacks can make or break a road trip.
Furthermore, that survey commissioned by candy brand HI-CHEW shows more than 60% of those polled wouldn’t even consider going on a road trip with somebody if they’re one of those people who don’t allow you to eat in their car.
More than 70% of respondents said road trips give them permission to eat whatever they want, with 47% saying they’re bringing chips, 44% bringing cookies and 42% bringing candy. By comparison, just 33% say they’re bringing their own kids on their road trip this year — that’s how key the snacks are.
Fifty-two percent agree each traveler should bring their own munchies and share, though 65% say they intend to bring along their own supply and not share.
