Woman charged with bias crime in alleged bus employee attack

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) β€” Officials say a woman was charged with bias crimes after allegedly spitting on and punching a TriMet transit employee in Portland, Oregon. The Oregonian/OregonLive reports according to the Multnomah County District Attorney, Nicole Hileman is accused of using racial slurs and threatening to punch a man Wednesday on a MAX light rail train. A TriMet safety supervisor asked Hileman to get off the train and Hileman allegedly punched the supervisor and referred to the supervisor as β€œit.” Hileman was indicted in court Thursday on charges of bias crime, assault and interfering with public transport. It wasn’t immediately known if Hileman has a lawyer to comment on her behalf.
