Iron Man will live again…in a video game

Tony Stark may be dead in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but he’ll live again in a new stand-alone Iron Man video game made by Electronic Arts.

The company announced Tuesday it’s “thrilled” to share that it’s working with Marvel games for an “all-new single-player, third-person, action-adventure” starring Ol’ Shellhead.

EA’s Montreal-based Motive Studio is developing the game; the company was behind a recent game based on Guardians of the Galaxy.

According to EA, the new game “will feature an original narrative that taps into the rich history of Iron Man, channeling the complexity, charisma, and creative genius of Tony Stark, and enabling players to feel what it’s like to truly play as Iron Man.”

Bill Rosemann, Vice President and Creative Director at Marvel Games noted, “We are thrilled to collaborate with the talented team at Motive Studio to bring their original vision of one of Marvel’s most important, powerful and beloved characters” for what he called, “a love letter to a legendary hero.”

The Armored Avenger most recently appeared in Iron Man VR for PlayStation VR and played a supporting role in the Avengers game in 2020.
