With how the weather has been of late, it’s certainly rare to see a report that’ll make you smile. Enter two reporters … and a touch-screen TV.
WLS-TV, an ABC affiliate based in Chicago, has apparently used the same TV screen to do the weather report for awhile, but the weatherman didn’t know what it was capable of … until now. Weatherman Greg Dutra was giving the scoop early Thursday morning when his fingers brushed the screen — and the map moved with them.
“Oh, I moved the map! I didn’t know that,” the newscaster exclaimed as the room broke into laughter. “I can do that? No way!” he shouted as he continued poking and prodding the interactive display.
Soon after, anchor Terrell Brown runs into frame to put his hands on the screen to see what the ruckus was all about. The two men geek out over the display and break out into wholesome oohs and ahhs — seemingly forgetting what they are live on air.
Dutra also learns the screen can zoom and Brown pretends to fall to the floor in shock. “It’s a great day! It’s a great day,” the meteorologist exclaims. “What a beautiful start to this morning.” He also finds out he can tilt the map and immediately ends his report so he can continue figuring out the touch-screen TV.
Dutra shared the wholesome footage to his Twitter, writing, “This wasn’t in the training manual!”
