Sure, there’s still debate over whether they’re actually worth what they cost, but NFTs, or non-fungible tokens, have just moved into a very respectable neighborhood: New York City’s Fifth Avenue.
Web3 Gallery has signed a lease at 510 Fifth Ave., and the “first-of-its-kind gallery” has been conceived as a way to “increase education around the rapidly expanding Web 3.0 space.” That is, the blockchain and other decentralized tech that makes transactions like NFTs and crypto purchases possible.
Billing itself as “the world’s first and only crypto, Metaverse, and NFT experience,” the gallery will feature exhibitions of hundreds of recognizable NFT projects; showcase valuable, one-of-a-kind NFT art pieces; and allow those who have scooped up such pieces to display their own.
And no, your copy and paste of somebody else’s Bored Ape NFT isn’t invited.
