Horse-drawn buggy leads police on low-speed chase

An Ohio man has been charged with operating a vehicle while under the influence, but it wasn’t your typical vehicle.

According to the Ashtabula County Sheriff’s Office, 21-year-old Nathan Miller was the “reckless operator” of a horse-drawn buggy that was on the wrong side of the road during the May 14 incident, WPTA21 reports.

“We got a drunk Amish guy passed out in a buggy,” a deputy could be heard saying on body camera video.

Police pursued the buggy for a short time before it stopped. When deputies tried to gain control of the horse, it crashed the buggy into one of the police vehicles.

Miller was arrested for operating a vehicle while under the influence and treated for minor injuries.
