Looking to get away from it all? How about a luxe yacht its designer calls a “floating Range Rover”

The design team behind a luxury, 280-foot “sports activity vessel” called Bold knew that they were swinging for the fences in planning the “floating Range Rover,” but its owner found that having it all pretty handy when COVID hit.

According to an interview with Robb Report, the magazine for really rich people looking to buy really expensive things, designer Espen Ă˜ino equipped Bold with everything anyone would ever need.

There’s also a ton of stuff you wouldn’t think anyone could ever need.

The sleek, almost military-looking vessel has spent the last three years sailing around the world, with Guido Krass, founder of Australian shipyard SilverYachts, aboard.

It can carry 96 passengers, but he didn’t. Instead, Krass’ idea was to enjoy everything the vessel had to offer, which includes a “modern, glass-filled Manhattan loft interior” and a 20-foot cabin companion vessel, as well as Sea-Doos, laser sailing dinghies, mountain bikes, surfboards, drones and more.

Oh, and there’s a helipad on the 4,300-square-foot aft deck, from which Krass and his very lucky guests used to “help create magic on shoreside visits.”

Capt. Todd Leech, who supervised the build team, explained that Krass’ family unexpectedly spent three months very comfortably aboard during COVID. “Thank goodness the boat was designed to cope with an end-of-the-world scenario,” he commented.

And what a way to spend the end of the world: Apart from a 3,229-square-foot sky lounge with marble floors, and teak and oak paneling, the boat can even carry a submarine, if an owner requests it.

That’s right: Bold is now for sale, via Moravia Yachting, “for an undisclosed amount”…because if you have to ask “how much,” you probably can’t afford it.
