Driving instructor popped for driving under the influence in driver’s ed car

No one likes being trapped behind a vehicle that has one of those dreaded “student driver” stickers on it.  So imagine the police’s surprise when they pulled over one of these vehicles to find its driver completely sloshed.

That’s not even half of it — the driver was the instructor.

Florida Highway Patrol reports that the bizarre incident happened during the overnight hours Friday in Pasco County.  Troopers pulled the vehicle over and arrested Gregory Sorensen, 54, saying his blood alcohol level was “nearly 3x the limit.” Police also found a 24-pack of beer in the back seat.

Sorensen was arrested for DUI.  Adds the FHP of the incident, “Hopefully this isn’t part of the driving curriculum!”
