JAIME HERRERA BEUTLER RETURNS OVER $2 MILLION TO SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON RESIDENTS IN 2022

2-million-dollar milestone reached by April; Jaime has assisted 419 individuals since Jan. 2022

Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler announced today that she has returned $2,264,502.68 to Southwest Washington residents from the federal government through casework services from January 2022 through the end of March.

Jaime and her office have worked on behalf of 419 Southwest Washington residents so far this year. The $2 million returned to residents consists of money they’ve earned; benefits owed to them by the Internal Revenue Service, Social Security Administration, Department of Veteran Affairs, and other federal agencies; or assistance from Small Business Administration loans for which they were approved.

“Helping folks navigate the often-complicated federal bureaucracy is a necessary and important part of my job,” Jaime said. “Whether it’s expediting passports for individuals at the State Department, helping seniors with Social Security, or securing disability benefits for local veterans – my team and I are here to assist all residents of Southwest Washington. I’m proud of hitting this ‘$2 million returned to residents’ milestone only three months into the year because it demonstrates that my team and I will do whatever we can to get results to individuals.”

Solving problems for Southwest Washington residents

Jaime recently assisted Patrick Browne, a resident from Camas, with an issue he was experiencing with the IRS:

“My father, Army MG Edward Browne (Ret), died on April 28, 2021, at the age of 90. The IRS owed him a refund on his 2020 federal tax return. The significant personnel and logistical difficulties resulting from COVID-19 combined with the timing of my father’s death, made it challenging to connect with IRS staff to facilitate a timely resolution. As Trustee of my late father’s assets, I contacted the Congresswoman’s Office to ask for help. It took a mere 24 hours to receive an email inquiry from her staff. From then on, I have received timely, efficient, and courteous assistance from Rep. Herrera Beutler’s Office. The ultimate result of the Congresswoman’s and her staff’s efforts was receipt of the IRS refund check. I am convinced without the assistance and intervention of this Office, a resolution to this issue would be many months away.” — Patrick Browne, Camas
