Washington couple arrested in starvation death of child

VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) — The adoptive parents of a 15-year-old Vancouver, Washington boy who died from starvation in November have been arrested in Stockton, California. The Columbian reports Felicia Adams-Franks and Jesse Costillo Franks will be extradited to appear on charges of second-degree murder and homicide by abuse. The Vancouver Police Department says a warrant was issued for their arrests on May 28. Adams-Franks legally adopted Karreon Franks and his two younger brothers in 2012 in California. An autopsy report says Karreon Franks weighed 61 pounds at his death and showed abnormal bone and hair growth, as well as lesions, likely caused by starvation. It wasn’t immediately known if the couple has a lawyer to comment for them.
