LOS ANGELES (AP) — Hard-hit California has eclipsed 2 million coronavirus cases as the U.S. heads into a Christmas travel surge that could fuel the deadly crisis across the nation. Over 1.19 million travelers passed through the nation’s airport security checkpoints Wednesday. Deaths per day in the U.S. have repeatedly topped 3,000 over the past two weeks.
