Man arrested, charged with rape of woman at Portland bar

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A man faces rape and other charges after authorities say he attacked a woman at one of Southeast Portland’s most popular bars. The Oregonian/OregonLive reports Kyle Tait was booked Monday into Multnomah County’s downtown jail on suspicion of rape, sodomy and sexual abuse. Tait posted security Monday on $505,000 bail and was released. His arrest and first court appearance are set for Wednesday. Police and bar officials said the alleged attack happened March 31, 2019 at the White Owl Social Club during a party celebrating a Hindu festival. Tait’s lawyer Lisa Ludwig says he is ready to fight this case and that he’s suffered a lot of harassment as a result of the allegations.
