Seven deaths at Flagstone Senior Living in COVID-19 outbreak

It is with great sadness that we are reporting that a total of seven residents of Flagstone Senior Living who tested positive for COVID-19 have now died. The deaths have occurred between Sept. 26 and today, Oct. 5.

Their deaths bring total COVID fatalities in Wasco County to 10.

The deaths have occurred among residents in the facility’s memory care unit, where all 30 of the residents have tested positive for COVID. Staff and family of staff have also contracted COVID in the outbreak. Seven of the residents were sent to a long term care facility in the Willamette Valley that specializes in caring for residents who have COVID. That transfer was done to ease the care load at Flagstone.

We ask the public to respect the privacy of those grieving, and to redouble all efforts to protect ourselves and others from COVID. Those efforts include wearing masks, keeping physically distant from others, frequently washing hands, and staying home when sick.
