13 arrests, probe opened into officer conduct at protests

SEATTLE (AP) — Police in Seattle arrested 13 people as authorities said people smashed windows and spray painted buildings during protests following a Kentucky grand jury’s decision to not indict officers in the fatal shooting of Breonna Taylor. Police say one officer was struck in the head with a baseball bat, cracking his helmet. KOMO reports people were arrested on charges including resisting arrest, property destruction and refusing to disperse. The King County Sheriff’s Office will investigate a Seattle police officer who was seen on video wheeling his bike over the head of a person lying on the ground.
