Police: Man who tried to rob cab driver shot in struggle

ALOHA, Ore. (AP) — Authorities say an 18-year-old man was shot after he tried to rob a cab driver in suburban Portland. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to a robbery call in Aloha early Tuesday and found Josiah Johnson had been shot with his own gun. The sheriff’s office says the cab driver told them he picked up Johnson in Gresham. When they arrived, in Aloha the cab driver told deputies Johnson tried to pay with a counterfeit $100 bill before Johnson pointed a gun at the driver. The sheriff’s office says Johnson was shot in a struggle over the weapon. He was arrested, treated and booked into jail. It wasn’t immediately known if Johnson has a lawyer.
