A summer thunderstorm passed through the Gorge yesterday evening. Just before 6 pm, the National Weather Service reported winds sustained at 23 miles an hour, with gusting to 32 miles an hour. Social media reported numbers in the 75 to 100 mph range, but those are not confirmed. Some trees blew over and there were power lines down in parts of town briefly. There is a current National Weather Service weather warning in effect for The Dalles and Eastern Oregon. There is an excessive heat warning until 9 pm Tuesday, with temperatures running from 96 to 106 in the region today and tomorrow.
