City of The Dalles Mayor & City Council Races

Thee will be at least two contested city council seats this fall. City Clerk Izetta Grossman sent out a list yesterday for those who have filed for city office. Incumbent Rod Runyon in Position #5, a , is being challenged by Tiffany Prince. Two candidates are vying Position #4 for the seat left vacant by Linda Miller’s decision not to run again. They are Forest Ercole and Dan Richardson. Incumbent Darcy Long-Curtiss is so far running unopposed for Position #2. So is incumbent Mayor Rich Mays, who had this statement:

“I filed to serve another two-year term as Mayor of The Dalles. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve thus far and I am gratified how this community has come together in most all respects. And despite some setbacks related to the coronavirus situation, I believe our community spirit and perseverance has inspired me, and I continue to believe my local government experience and leadership style are best suited to make our town grow and prosper over the next two years.”

Filing began June 3 and the filing deadline for this year’s city council and mayor races is August 25.
