Trump praises Barr for dropping Flynn’s Trump-Russia case

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump is praising his attorney general for dropping the Justice Department criminal case against Michael Flynn, his first national security adviser. Trump says Attorney General William l Barr “is a man of unbelievable credibility and courage and he’s going to go down on the history books.” The Justice Department said Thursday it was dropping its case against Flynn, who was accused of lying about his conversation with the Russian ambassador during the 2016 political campaign. It was part of special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation of contacts between Russia and Trump’s campaign. Trump said Friday that if Barr had been his first attorney general, there would never have been a Russia probe.
