Amid Moscow lockdown, some dogs find new homes and friends

MOSCOW (AP) — Moscow’s coronavirus lockdown is bringing benefits to some of the city’s dogs. With humans spending all day at home, it’s an opportune period to find the time to acclimate a new dog — and an online project is capitalizing on this to match shelter dogs with people. For older people, who aren’t supposed to venture outside, volunteers are available to take dogs for walks, giving the dogs necessary exercise and the pleasure of meeting a new friend.
