Though many safeguards are in place at all VA facilities to conserve resources, minimize traffic in clinics, and reduce exposure of the COVID-19 virus to Veterans and staff alike, VAPORHCS is continuing to see Veterans for their care needs. Most primary care and mental health appointments are being conducted virtually via video tele-health or by phone, and elective procedures are being rescheduled. At the VA Vancouver and Portland campuses, the pharmacy started curbside delivery to minimize Veterans need to enter the facilities.
Veterans who use VAPORHCS are encouraged to use MyHealtheVet or call VA Portland at 503-220-8262, option 2 to relay any messages to their Primary or Specialty Care team or to make changes or cancelations of existing appointments.
Veterans are also encouraged to sign-up to receive important updates on VA care and any operational changes that may occur within VAPORHCS. They can simply go to www.portland.va.gov and put their email in under “Connect with VA Portland Health Care System.”
