Klickitat Valley Fire Victims Fund Auction Cancelled

Due to the current events and the Governor’s Proclamation prohibiting any gatherings over 50 people to try and slow down the COVID-19 Virus,  the Board of the Klickitat Valley Fire Victims Fund has made the sad decision to cancel this year’s  annual Charity Auction and Yard Sale event that was to be held at Rural 7 Fire.  This event has been held every year for the past 24 and the money raised from this event has gone to our community members in the Rural 7, Centerville, and Goldendale City Fire Districts that have lost their homes due to fire. For the past couple of years, we have raised around $16,000 dollars to benefit our communities.

Planning an event of this magnitude takes many volunteer hours and with schools being closed many of our volunteers need this time to focus on their families. We also need to consider the safety of our community and keep our first responders healthy to continue serving our community during emergencies. We will also not be accepting physical donations at this time as we are unable to pick up or allow drop offs due to the county building closure, which includes Rural 7 Fire Department being closed to the public.

We will still have two ways of monetary donations to help with this cause during this time of crisis www.smile.amazon.com select Klickitat Valley Fire Victims Fund or at www.paypal.me/FireVictimsFund. We appreciate the communities support through out this difficult times and hope that we can come back next year with a bigger better charity event for you!
