As families and employers brace for shutdowns and try to stay healthy during the coronavirus crisis, Rep. Gina Mosbrucker says new state websites with resources are now online to provide help for citizens.
“There’s a lot of misinformation out there, which is spreading nearly as fast as the virus. We want to get people to the right information so they can take appropriate action to help themselves, their families and their communities,” said Mosbrucker, R-Goldendale. “That’s why our House Republican communications team has worked up a one-stop page to provide comprehensive state information and resources on COVID-19.”
The website is: Houserepublicans.wa.gov/coronavirus.
Links are provided on this page related to the coronavirus crisis, including: school closures, college and university resources, information on assistance for employers and employees, health care, housing and homelessness, agriculture, military and veterans, the powers of the governor during an emergency, links to local health departments, and how people can protect themselves against COVID-19.
Two other links Mosbrucker also recommends:
- Governor’s office: governor.wa.gov/issues/issues/covid-19-resources
- Washington State Department of Health: doh.wa.gov/Emergencies/Coronavirus
“One of the most basic functions of government is public safety. As part of the leadership team in the Legislature, I’ve been involved in conference calls with the governor’s office, as well as other lawmakers, as we try to determine the best and safest way to protect the public, and get through this crisis together,” said Mosbrucker.
“We are all working together, Republicans and Democrats, as one Washington, to meet the challenges ahead, to save lives, to ensure financial assistance to those most in need, and to position ourselves for recovery, both economic and in terms of health,” added Mosbrucker. “Knowing where to turn for help is critical right now for many of our citizens. My office stands ready to be there for people who need information and help.”
