The Dalles City Council had a busy agenda at its meeting last night. Here are some of the highlights:
Corliss Marsh reminded everyone that the Wasco Cultural Trust has about $10,000 to award for projects involving art, music and history. The deadline for applying is November 22nd.
Councilor Rod Runyon said he had no absolute guarantee, but that the Pentagon has approved the November 11 Veterans Day Parade in The Dalles is eligible for an Air Force flyover.
Don Warren, president of Main Street Association said that his group has a project to add at least 15 new murals in The Dalles.
The city has been awarded a certificate for excellence in financial reporting. Mayor Rich May quoted from the award:
City Manager Julie Krueger said this was the 9th time the city had received such an award.
Councilors also approved a number of changes in the city’s land use development ordinances, and a memorandum of understanding with Wasco County on graffiti removal.
