Tuesday morning just after 7 am, Klickitat County Sheriff’s Office Deputy’s responded to the report of a stolen vehicle that was left running, unoccupied, out of Lyle.
Deputy’s spotted the vehicle on the Centerville Highway near Randle road. When officers turned on the vehicle, the stolen vehicle accelerated to allude the Deputy’s. At around milepost 20 on Hwy 97, Deputy’s called off the chase because they felt innocent people would be at risk due to the erratic behavior of the driver of the stolen vehicle.
Klickitat County notified Washington State Patrol, Yakama Tribal and Yakama County Sheriff’s office.
They came across the vehicle near mile post 50 on the side of the road out of gas. As Deputy’s were searching for the subjects, a passerby stopped and told the Deputy’s where the two subjects were. They were taken into custody.
Klickitat County Undersheriff Mike Kalio gave Gorge Country Media’s Kevin Malcolm some good advice.
