Goldendale City Council met last night for a relatively routine session. Councilors easily approved the appointment of three members of the city council to a new temporary Urban Wildlife Committee and agreed to allow water service out of town as part of a deal allowing an easement for a water pipeline. As part of the deal, the property will be annexed into the city. One of the brighter moments came as Police Chief Reggie Bartkowski announced a strong turnout by Goldendale Police for the Pig Bowl this weekend in The Dalles.
That event takes place this Saturday at 7 pm at Sid White Field on the Wahtonka campus.
In other items, the council approved a number of future meetings:
Next Monday the 23rd the council will hold a special meeting to present the broadband committee’s final draft report, a 100 page document.
September 30th the budget committee will meet on the 2020 budget. State deadline for the city’s proposed preliminary budget will be at the next regular council meeting October 7. That meeting will be preceded at 6 pm with a meeting of the Ordinance Committee.
And October 14 there will be a discussion of the parks plan at 7 pm.
