WDFW offers options to control deer and cougar populations in Goldendale

Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife Captain Jeff Wickersham visited the Goldendale City Council Tuesday night with WDFW conflict specialist Todd Jacobsen and WDFW district wildlife biologist Stefanie Bergh to offer some suggested options to control deer in Goldendale and the predators that follow the deer into town. Below are photos of some of the slides shown in the presentation. Our apologies for the blurriness on some of the photos.

In response, councilors voted to set up a wildlife committee involving members of the council and other stakeholders, including WDFW and the police and sheriff’s departments.
