Lightning Peppered the sky in the Mid-Columbia in what was a spectacular show for several hours. Lightning caused all four Gorge Country Media Stations to go off the air for a short time. It also caused a fire on Miller Island right across from the mouth of the Deschutes River. Along with the high winds, the smoke from that fire was heavy for travelers on Interstate 84 for a while. Many little fires reported all around the Mid-Columbia last night as well due to the lightning.
