Wasco county commissioners have double duty today. Their regular meeting starts at 9 am this morning. Items on the agenda include tinge second reading of a planning ordinance, an update on the skills center at CGCC and an executive session to confer with legal counsel.
There’s also a special meeting tonight at 5:30 in the big courtroom room 301 at The courthouse to consider an official statement by the county in support of the second amendment on gun rights.
The hearing and ordinance is in response by a request by 2nd Amendment supporters to pass a proposed ordinance which would, among other things, say the county believes that the sheriff has the right to determine if any legislation dealing with gun rights or gun control is constitutional.
Here is the ordinance the commissioners will decide on tonight. Below that it is the much longer and more detailed ordinance requested by 2nd Amendment supporters.
