The White Salmon Springfest gets underway today at 3 pm with a Youth Talent Show.  Music with Gun Shy playing classic country tunes tonight at 8.  Saturday starts with the fireman’s breakfast, parade at 11 and music getting underway at noon.  The have a 3 on 3 basketball tournament and doubles tennis tournament.  Fun run on Sunday morning.  Find out more information at https://whitesalmonspringfestival.com/

Goldendale Pickers Fest returns to Ekone Park today through Sunday.  Camping is available for those who want to stay at Ekone Park.  They say $10 for ten million stars! Camping for the full weekend is $10 per person — day visits are free.

The Hood River Library is hosting a Harry Potter Trivia Contest tonight from 5 – 6:30. Come in Costume to earn extra points.  This is for kids 8 – 18.  http://hoodriverlibrary.org/event/harry-potter-trivia-challenge-3/


Rainy Day Fund Run is a 3k, 5k, 10 walk/run along the beautiful river front trail to raise money for the Rainy Day Fund which helps children birth to 21 years of age by providing funding for medical needs or equipment which are not covered by insurance.  More information at https://www.cgesd.k12.or.us/

Friends of the White Salmon River’s annual work party to maintain and repair the Weldon Wagon Trail.  We join with National Trails Day work parties throughout the USA. We were proud to be one of 1200 events last year.  8:30 – Noon.  

Goldendale Soroptimist Plant Sale.  Come buy plants that do well in the Gorge.  There will be perennials, annuals, herbs, vegetables and houseplants for reasonable prices.  All proceeds go towards educational grants for local women.  The sale is located at the corner of Main and Columbus in Goldendale.

Join the Colonel Wright Elementary School Marimba Pioneers and Mojos for a public concert on Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at The Dalles City Park. This concert will take place during the Farmer’s Market. The Pioneers are a 4th grade music group and the Mojos are a 5th grade music group. Both are directed by Ramona Harwood, the music teacher at Colonel Wright. The Pioneers will be playing from 10-11:15 a.m. and the Mojos will perform from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. This is an outdoor concert. We recommend bringing chairs or blankets for seating.

The Oregon Trail Rally returns the Mid-Columbia this weekend.  Over 70 rally racers will compete today through Sunday.  The racers will start in Portland at the Portland International Raceway from 5 – 9 tonight.  saturday the racers take on the steep hills near Goldendale, including the Maryhill Loops Road. A few more stage miles take place on Oak Flat Road and Dalles Mountain Road before the rally crosses the Columbia River on Sunday onto the wide sweeping plains to Dufur, Oregon.  Saturday night there will be a fan rally at Pete’s Pizza in Goldendale where you can meet the drivers including Travis Pastrana.  More information can be found at https://oregontrailrally.com/

A fundraiser to rebuild Jim’s Market & Paco’s Tacos in Parkdale that was lost to fire, will take place at the Mt. Hood Town Hall on Hwy 35 from 2 – 7 pm.  Silent auction, vendors, food & drinks.

Music Matters in The Dalles takes place from 3 – 8 pm at The Dalles City Park.  A fundraiser for friends of D21. Live music performed by students and local musicians.  The Dalles High School Band, Cascade Singers, a Barber Shop Quarted, Soulwolf and the Wasco Brothers.
