SEATTLE (AP) — Authorities say three children and a woman were shot in separate incidents in Seattle and Renton.
KING reports a 27-year-old woman and her 10-month-old child were shot in the Rainier Valley neighborhood Monday evening. The woman was holding the child in the back seat of a parked car at the time.
Harborview Medical Center officials say the two were upgraded from critical to serious condition Tuesday. Witnesses told police the victims were shot when two groups of people opened fire on one another in a parking lot.
Police say a 10-year-old in a separate car was also shot as her family drove out of the parking lot. Hospital officials say she was released from the hospital overnight.
An 8-year-old boy was injured while leaving a Renton park with his family Monday, but police weren’t sure if he was hit by gunfire or some other projectile. Harborview officials say the boy was in serious condition Tuesday.
