Goldendale School District To Make Important Budget Decisions

The Goldendale School District is now in the process of making some important budget decisions in light of the Washington state McCleary act, resulting in a loss of approximately 1.2 million dollars in local levy funds.

The school districts acting superintendant Ian Grabenhorst told Gorge Country Medias Julian Notestine, the board uses attrition, the levy and funding formula to pencil out what changes and possible cuts are necessary.

Ian Grabenhorst on School Funding:

Grabenhorst applauded both the Goldendale School Board Association and Public State Employees as well as school administrators in coming together, in making these adjustments to programs and staff positions at all three local schools within the district.
