PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Police say officers fatally shot a man who stabbed four adults in Southeast Portland.
The Portland Police Bureau says officers were called to a residence at about 4:15 a.m. Monday and found the man holding a woman at knifepoint.
Police say officers removed a toddler from the room before using less-than-lethal and then lethal rounds on the man.
Police say the man died at the scene.
The woman and three other men were taken to hospital with “substantial” stab wound injuries, according to police.
Police say the victims knew the man.
The names of those involved haven’t been released.
The officers involved are on standard paid administrative leave while an investigation continues.
