Man arrested in Portland killing

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Police say a 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of killing a man in Portland nearly two months ago.

The Oregonian/OregonLive reports Javier Omar Solis is accused of fatally shooting 25-year-old Charles E. Gaines on Feb. 18. Homicide detectives arrested Solis Sunday, and he’s being held without bail in the Multnomah County Detention Center.

Police said Gaines was found hurt in the area of Tik Tok Restaurant & Bar in southeast Portland and died at a hospital. An autopsy showed that he died from a gunshot wound.

Police said there’s no information suggesting the shooting was linked to the restaurant and bar.
